Other Literary Events: The Children’s Army in BigCityLit (Fall 2010)

A new story by Sunday Best curator Patricia Eakins appears in the Fall 2010 issue of BigCityLit, an online, Manhattan-based literary magazine that showcases the best in poetry and fiction.  In The Children’s Army, Patricia uses language that is poetic in its economy and lyricism to create a riveting piece of prose. As always, Patricia draws upon fantastic and macabre creatures and scenarios from the edge of imagination to drive home truths about human nature and the worlds we inhabit that are all too real.  Many of the writers whose poetry and fiction appears in the fall issue of BigCityLit participated in a reading on Saturday, December 4 at the Bloomingdale branch of the New York Public Library on the Upper West Side.  Patricia attended and performed The Children’s Army for a mesmerized audience.  The full text of The Children’s Army is available on BigCityLit’s website.  Read it . . . if you dare.
